Step
1. Take a
fall theme basket or any other container and floral foam. Cut the foam to fit
the basket. The foam should fit firmly and about one inch below the lip of your
basket.
To
secure the foam well, you can adhere duct tape to the bottom of the container.
Then glue the foam onto the duct tape.
Step
2. Top the
foam with fall colored shredded paper.
Step
3. Take
your fall silk flowers. If you bought your flowers as a bush, which is usually
cheaper, cut the individual flowers from the bush with wire cutters.
You
will need to choose what shape your fall decoration will be. It may be oval or
round, for example.
Insert
the flowers into the arrangement within the oval or round design, spacing the
flowers evenly all around. Your Thanksgiving candy and flower centerpiece
should look good from all sides.
I
used 5 small sunflowers and 6 small mums for this centerpiece.
Step
4. Insert
silk maple leaves into the foam all around the lip of your basket. If the maple
leaves stems are too short, you can elongate them with a piece of stem wire
using floral tape.
Step
5. Finally
we come down to making the candy flowers for your Thanksgiving table
decoration.
a)
You will need MilkyWay® mini bars, bamboo skewers or 16 gauge wire, gold
curling ribbon, and a glue gun.
Glue
a skewer or a piece of stem wire to the back of each MilkyWay® mini bar. Hold
the skewer/wire down for a few seconds before the glue cools and your candy
piece is well secured on the stick.
Finish
up by tying gold curling ribbon around each stick.
b) Insert the candy pieces in several rows in
the front of the centerpiece and in its back.
Step
6. Let’s
make different candy flowers.
a)
I used butterscotch candy and cinnamon discs. Attach 2 or 3 pieces of candy to
each stick and tie a piece of yellow or red curling ribbon around each candy
flower stem.
b) Put the candy flowers into the candy
bouquet within the chosen design.
Step
7. If you
want, you can add some fall foliage. I added red berries with brown grass in
the center of the decoration.

beautiful edible fall decoration is ready! You can decorate your Thanksgiving
table with it or just give it away as a beautiful gift to your friends or
