I know many people who say that they want to work from home. They make the claim, but have no idea what it really entails. Remember, when you work from home, you still have to WORK. Working from home doesnt mean you just sit around in your pajamas and have money delivered to you, although it seems as if many people think thats exactly what working from home means. Please, before you consider the idea of working from home, take a look at the five important items Ive listed below

1) You MUST put yourself on a schedule. Keeping yourself on a schedule is a must. Otherwise you will always find something else to do around the house. A schedule is very important.
2) A place within the home to use for your work and only your work. An extra room that can be considered your 'office' is perfect. You need to have a place that is quiet, and that you can actually get your work done.
3) The television is your enemy! If you work from home, the tendency is to turn on the television. You will ALWAYS waste time with the television if it's on, it's that simple. Just leave it off during your scheduled work timeits only a distraction.
4) If you work from home, everyone in your immediate circle is going to assume that you don't do anything all day. And they will come at you with some weird requests. You need to be polite and learn how to say the word NO. People, who don't work from home, have no clue what it's like and will convince you to give up before you ever give it a chance. Remember: If it were easy, everyone would do it.
5) Stay positive. This is important, because it will seem as if the entire world is stacked against you at times. I find that reading books on the subject of staying positive or anything of that nature is very helpful. Your state of mind is as important as anything when you're working from home. You must be willing to focus on the positive.
If these five things seem unnecessary to you, you might want to think twice about working from home, because you won't be able to achieve any level of success. They are simply things that you must be willing to learn.
